Mexico’s president has unveiled a new song celebrating Mexican immigrants in the U.S. to celebrate International Migrants Day.
The song is called the "Himno Migrante," or "Migrant Anthem." Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum called Mexicans living in the U.S. “heroes,” noting that Mexican immigrants in the U.S. sent $6.3 billion in remissions back to their home country last year.
“You know that [Mexico] will always be your home,” Sheinbaum said at a press conference. “Thank you for all you do for your families, and thank you for all you do for Mexico.”
