WEST AFRICAN IMMIGRANT CALLS OUT ILHAN OMAR AT TRUMP RALLY: AMERICA GAVE HER EVERYTHING AND SHE SPAT ON IT
A West African immigrant stood up at a Trump rally in Kentucky and delivered a blunt message that cut through the usual noise. He said he is an immigrant who came here and is grateful. He called Ilhan Omar’s behavior in America unacceptable. He said she needs to apologize to the president. He noted that immigrants should run toward the country that gave them opportunity, not against it.
Omar arrived in the United States in 1995 at age 12 as a refugee from Somalia. She became a citizen in 2000. Federal investigators are now examining whether she or her family lied or omitted key information on immigration paperwork during that process. Agents recently searched her Washington-area home and seized her phone and passport. A federal grand jury in Minnesota is reviewing the case.
The contrast is straightforward. One immigrant at the rally expressed gratitude for the opportunities America provided. Omar, who rose all the way to Congress, has spent years criticizing the country that took her in. The investigation focuses on the paperwork that allowed that rise. Supporters of the probe argue it is basic accountability for someone who took an oath as a member of Congress. Critics call it political targeting. The facts on the table are the search, the seizures, the grand jury, and the long-standing questions about her citizenship application.
The rally clip shows an immigrant who chose gratitude over grievance. That is the standard the speaker applied to Omar. The ongoing federal review will determine whether the paperwork that made her a citizen and a congresswoman holds up.

A quarter of a century later, the story of September 11, 2001, continues.

Presented by FDNY Pro Films, "Resilience" tells the stories of FDNY members who responded that day, survived, and then spent years searching and caring for their brothers and the thousands who were lost. Today, many continue to face the lasting health impacts of their service and sacrifice.

Through their stories and those of their loved ones, doctors and advocates, "Resilience" reveals the ongoing fight for care, recognition and support for those living with World Trade Center-related illness.

But above all, it tells a story of hope and the courage to keep moving forward.

Watch the trailer and join us for a special screening of "Resilience" at Firehouse Cinema in Manhattan on Sept. 6 or Sept. 11. Tickets are available at dctvny.org/s/firehouse-fi….
